Image Usage & Licensing

1. Copyright

Under US copyright law, Saltlight Studio Co. owns the copyright to all images and footage we create. You receive a license to use them as described below. Copyright transfer or full buyout is available by quote.

2. Personal license

Included with portrait and family sessions. You may print, share on personal social media and use images for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not sell images or use them in advertising.

3. Commercial marketing license

Included with Brand Story, video packages and business headshots. You may use the work on your website, social media, email, printed marketing and organic posts for your own business, for an unlimited time.

4. Extended commercial license

Included with Full Production. Covers everything in the marketing license plus paid advertising, billboards, packaging and broadcast or streaming ads.

5. What is not allowed

• Transferring or reselling images to another business
• Entering images into contests or claiming authorship
• Applying filters or heavy edits that change our work, then crediting us
• Using images of people in ways that are misleading or defamatory

6. Portfolio use

We may show work in our portfolio and on social media unless your agreement says otherwise. Ask us for a privacy option at booking and we will not share your images publicly.

7. Credit

Credit is appreciated but not required for commercial use. When credited, please tag or name Saltlight Studio Co.
